If you’re looking for a getaway that’s got a little something for everyone, Deep Creek is calling your name! I visited this charming spot over the summer for my friend’s bachelorette party, and let me just say — we had an absolute blast. Whether you’re into outdoor adventures, cozy vibes, or a good night out, Deep Creek has you covered in every season. In the winter, you can hit the slopes, and in the summer? Think mountain coasters, lake days, and paddle boarding. It really is the perfect all-year-round destination.
Where We Stayed: Airbnb Goals 🏡✨
Let’s be honest — you can’t have a proper girls trip without a cozy home base. We stayed at an adorable Airbnb called Home in Oakland, and it was everything we needed and more. It slept six of us comfortably and had three bathrooms (which is crucial on an all-girls trip — you get it). The place had that perfect modern-rustic aesthetic, complete with a big front porch and a hot tub.
The location was a win too — just down the road from the bars we wanted to check out, but still tucked far enough away from neighbors so we could play music without worrying about noise complaints. It felt private, fun, and homey all at once.
Let the Party Begin 🍸🎶
We hit up two bars while we were in Deep Creek, and each brought its own vibe.
First stop: Honi Honi Bar.
This place was giving total tiki bar energy. It had a big outdoor area with tons of seating and — surprisingly — even a playground if you’re visiting with kids. It’s also right next to the lake, which made for a dreamy backdrop.
We loved it so much, we went twice.
- Night one: Karaoke! Naturally, we had to belt out Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” — because what’s a bachelorette without a little girl power anthem?
- We also climbed on a giant elephant sculpture in the yard for the cutest group pic.
- Night two: There was a live band, which made the whole night feel like a summer concert. We kicked things off with white tea shots and danced until we dropped.
My favorite bar, though? Black Bear Tavern.
This place had the best playlist — a perfect mix of throwback hits and current jams. The drinks were not only delicious but super affordable. As a 29-year-old on this trip, I was happy to find a crowd that wasn’t all 21-year-olds. Me and my girls didn’t leave the dance floor all night.
Pro tip: Don’t drink and drive (of course), but even your DD should watch their speed. We may or may not have gotten pulled over on our way back to the Airbnb… whoops. 😅
Summer Fun in Deep Creek ☀️
We didn’t get to hit the lavender fields (they’re supposed to be gorgeous and would make the perfect brunch spot), but we did check out the mountain coaster at Wisp Resort — and OMG it was SO fun.
Here’s how it works: You hop in a little cart that slowly pulls you up the mountain, and then you control your speed all the way down. Want to cruise slow and soak in the views? Go for it. Want to race down like a mini bobsledder? You can do that too.
We only rode once, but honestly, I wish we’d gone again.
Important tip: Don’t forget sunscreen! We waited in line for about 30 minutes in full sun.
Even more important tip: When you book online, every person has to fill out a waiver. I did this for our group ahead of time, but what they don’t tell you is — it needs to be printed out. We found this out the hard way after standing in line for 25 minutes… had to go fill them out again and start over. Total pain. But the coaster? Worth it.
Also good to know: They have two-seater carts if you’re bringing kids along.
A Quick Day Trip to Frostburg 🚗💦
If you’re up for a little adventure, take the 45-minute drive to Tracks and Yaks in Frostburg, MD for a relaxing water tubing experience down the Potomac River (right on the Maryland-West Virginia border).
I’m not usually big on water sports, but this was surprisingly chill — the water was only about waist-deep, and it was hot, so the cool float felt amazing.
Funniest moment? Before dropping us off, the driver asked if anyone was afraid of cows. We laughed — until we floated by a bunch of them cooling off in the river! 🐄 They were harmless and kept their distance, but it made for a fun memory.
After tubing, we stopped by The Toasted Goat Winery. Ironically, none of us ordered wine (lol), but the food was delicious, and the cocktail options did not disappoint.
Final Thoughts
Deep Creek was the perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, and party vibes — a total win for a bachelorette weekend or even a low-key girls trip. Whether you’re looking to dance the night away or just chill in a hot tub with your besties, this place really has it all.
Already dreaming of my next visit 🫶
